The Expectation Abacus
This is a tool I first made in 2002 to help capture the "softer" specs of a project. You know, the often unspoken subjective context that eventually comes to light after a customer or manager didn't get what they wanted.
Simply add a bead anywhere on each rung, and in just a couple of minutes the team members will have a much better idea of what is wanted, and how to prioritize the work in their queue. It might even help clarify the request for the client! :)
