Quick exercise to show a group's natural diversity of thinking, and the value of everyone's input
Here’s a quick meeting warm-up technique to show the diversity of thinking in the room, and why everyone's contributions are important.
This is a useful exercise before any meeting where a range of ideas is the goal — brainstorming, strategy, troubleshooting, what could we do, what went wrong, how we could improve, what opportunities we have.
The goal is to quickly show that for each person in the group, no one else has all their ideas. Their input is unique and important.
If they don’t say what they are thinking, the thinking as a group will be less rich and diverse. It's not helpful to assume that someone else will say it.
